About Oregon ICES
Oregon ICES is the Oregon Chapter of the International Cake Exploration Societé (ICES). ICES was founded in 1976 in Monroe, Michigan by Betty Jo Steinman. Since that time ICES has grown to having members worldwide.
When you join ICES you automatically become a member of a state or regional chapter. Oregon became a state chapter several years ago and covers anyone living within the state's boundary.
Oregon ICES meets three times per year for "Days of Sharing" (DOS) where members and non-members share their craft with demonstrations and hands-on mini classes. Business meetings are also conducted at the DOS. The Oregon DOS are held at various locations on the third Sunday in March, July and October. Anyone interested in the sugar arts is welcome to attend, membership is not required.
Every two years in the Fall, Oregon ICES hosts a long weekend event of cake decorating classes called "Oregon Sweet Retreat" at Chinook Winds Casino.
